Things a site normally leaves you to guess. I would rather write them down.

Who you are dealing with

One person. Santiago Bianchi, composer, based in Rome. There is no studio behind me, no team, no account manager. When you write, I answer. When something is late, it is late because of me.

How the music is made

By hand, note by note. Orchestral parts are performed by sampled instruments unless the contract says a real orchestra, in which case it says which one and what it costs. If a project ever used generative audio I would write it in the contract, because you have a right to know what you are paying for. So far no project has.

Where the assistant fits

The chat bubble on this site is a language model with a description of my work. It is useful for what things cost and how long they take. It is not me, it cannot agree to anything, and nothing it says is binding. When it matters, ask me.

Inside a private conversation there is a translation switch, and it is the same kind of tool: it translates one message at a time so neither of us has to work in a language we do not own. You can turn it off and read exactly what was typed.

What things cost

The prices on this site are real prices, not opening offers. They are worked out from minutes of music, not from how big your production looks. The first minute costs more than the tenth because the first minute is where the language of the score gets invented.

Nothing is charged from a single click: expansions are asked for, approved, confirmed and only then paid. A price you were shown when you asked is the price you pay, even if the quote changes afterwards.

Taxes, said plainly

Prices are in euro and what you see is what is charged. Under the arrangement in force today no VAT is added at checkout, and the receipt says under which article. If that changes, the checkout will show the tax as a separate line before you pay, never after.

What happens to your files

They live on my server, not on a public link and not in a shared drive. They are kept for a year. After thirty days they become a compressed copy and the original is deleted, because a rough cut from last spring does not need to sit at full size forever. If you need something kept longer, say so and it will be.

The portfolio

Every project finished with me may go in the portfolio once it is public. If yours is under embargo, or you have bought ghost production, it does not appear at all. Ask and it comes down, no argument.

This website

Built from scratch, no page builder, no theme bought from a marketplace. It loads no fonts, scripts or images from anyone else’s server. That is partly craft and partly the simplest way to keep the privacy page above short and true.
