Italian composer, orchestrator, arranger

Your picture, scored like Hollywood.

Full orchestral scoring, orchestration and arrangement, at the standard you hear in cinemas. A hundred projects in, I usually know what a scene needs before the brief says it, and I will say so when it needs something other than what you asked for.

Same scene. Two scores. Two films.

Nothing changes in the edit. Both of these are the same scene, and you are watching it twice. Only the music decides whether it is a comedy or a threat.

A man in a leather armchair, scored as comedy.

Score one

He is harmless

Light, bouncing, slightly clumsy. He stops being a threat and starts being the joke.

The same scene as the card beside it, graded for the darker score.

Score two

He is dangerous

Low, still, holding. The room has not changed and you no longer want to be in it.

One cut, three layers

A watch commercial. First everything together, then the music alone, then the sound effects alone. Same picture in all three.

Composition, sound design and mix. Every hit is placed against a frame, not dropped on top of the edit.

The sound effects

Built object by object. None of this was in the footage.

Film, games, animation and commercials, sorted by what they were for.

Scenes you already know

None of these were commissioned. They are demonstrations, built on someone else's picture, of how I would score it.

You do not need the argument. You need the score.

You are not here to be convinced. You know what a score does to a scene, and you know what comes out of a prompt. So here is the short version of what a person does instead.

Over a hundred pictures, and it is still these three things.

I watch the cut first

Before a note exists your picture is open in front of me. The hit lands on the door slam at 04:12 because I saw the door close, and because I know the scene turns right after it.

Notes, not prompts

Keep the cello, lose the drums after bar 40, hold the low string four frames longer. Each of those is an afternoon of work, not another roll and another listen hoping this one is closer.

It is yours, and I sign it

Written for your picture, licensed to you in writing, and nobody else is ever handed anything close to it. There is a name on the work and a person to call about it.

These are not sketches. They are cues pulled out of finished projects, licensable as they are.

Yours would be written for your picture instead, which is a different thing entirely.

No packages. A meter.

This is where the level goes up: real orchestration from someone who has done it a hundred times, not a composer just starting out and not music pulled from a stock library. What comes out below is the right order of magnitude, not a quote. Your project is different from every other one, and that is exactly why it needs a real look before there is a real number.

Why it costs more than a plugin. Identical in the file: same score, same tempo, same dynamics. Nothing was rewritten between the two.

Different in the room: what changes is what produces the sound, and how many hours went into shaping every articulation by hand.
