What is not stored
No analytics cookie. No advertising cookie. No social button that phones home. The video on the home page is a still image until you press play — before that click, YouTube has never heard of you. After it, their rules apply, not mine.
Why the banner still has switches
Because the honest answer to «do you track me?» today is no, and the honest thing to do about tomorrow is to build the place where you would be asked, rather than to add it quietly later. The switches are there, off, and nothing is behind them yet.
